Exploring Physical Computing in School (EPICS) –

Dr Sue Sentance and Dr Jessie Durk

Physical computing involves combining software and hardware to build concrete and tangible physical systems that sense and respond to the real world; it is becoming more prevalent in schools (primary and secondary) with the development of new low-cost devices. In this talk, Jessie Durk and Sue Sentance will describe the EPICS project and how they are working with schools. They will be able to share some early findings around how the children are engaging with physical computing from the first year of data collection.
